Rachel Mills - Director
RML was founded in 2019 by Rachel Mills. Rachel previously worked as Literary Agent at Furniss Lawton agency, within the James Grant Talent Group, and before that as Agent and International Business Director for Peters Fraser and Dunlop agency, where she was a member of the Executive Board. Prior to that she worked in publishing at Penguin and Random House. In the 20 years she has worked in the industry, Rachel has secured major publishing and screen deals for a diverse range of authors. Her clients include bestselling authors like Sam Baker, Cathy Rentzenbrink, Catherine Gray, Prof. David Nutt, Nuno Mendes, Max La Manna, Imad Al Alarnab, Rob Dix, Matt Adlard, Helen Carr.
In 2015 she was awarded The Bookseller Rights Professional of the Year Award and in 2011 was nominated a ‘Rising Star’ by The Bookseller magazine.
Nelle Andrew - Literary Agent
Nelle Andrew joined RML in 2020. She previously worked as an agent at Peters Fraser and Dunlop for eleven years, and prior to that at Macmillan publishers. Nelle represents an array of internationally bestselling and award-winning authors across both fiction and non-fiction. Among those on her list are Sara Collins (winner of the Costa Debut fiction award), Jing-Jing Lee (a longlistee for the Women’s Fiction Prize and Walter Scott prize), Beth Underdown (HWA Goldsboro Award winner) and six Richard and Judy book club picks such as the bestselling Heidi Perks, Bryony Gordon and Candice Carty-Williams.
Nelle was crowned Literary Agent of the Year in 2021 at the Nibbies - The Bookseller Awards; the most prestigious accolade for a literary agent in the UK. She is now a Trustee for the Royal Literary Fund.
Nelle was a Bookseller Rising Star in 2016 and was shortlisted for Agent of the Year in 2018. Nelle also became a published author in her own right under the name Nelle Davy. She helped to build the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize for Unpublished Authors into one of the most eminent prizes for unpublished voices, and sat on the original board for The Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer’s Award. In 2023 she was inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Alexandra Cliff - International Business Director
Alexandra joined RML in 2019 from Peters Fraser and Dunlop where she managed an International Rights team of five agents and was a member of the Executive Board. Alexandra works with publishers in over forty countries, regularly travelling the world to ensure our clients' books reach the biggest global audience.
Alexandra has been a fellow of the Guadalajara and Turin international fellowship programmes. She was awarded the Bookseller Rising Star award in 2014. In 2023 she was nominated as Rights Professional of the Year at The Bookseller Awards, and was Highly Commended.
RML represents the clients of Gleam Titles, 42 Management and Production, Abi Bergstrom and Robert Caskie for their translation rights, thus Alexandra's client list includes Dr Julie Smith (sold in 38 languages) SK Tremayne, Alexandra Shulman, Dr Soph and Emma Gannon alongside all RML's clients.
Charlotte Bowerman - Contracts and Office Manager
Charlotte joined RML after gaining her MA in Publishing from University College London. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in English Language and Communication with International Relations from Oxford Brookes University. As Contracts and Office Manager, Charlotte oversees the smooth running of the agency and manages the contracts process for UK, US and non-book related deals.
Nick Ash - International Rights Agent
Nick joined RML in 2024. He is responsible for selling translation rights for our clients and the agencies we subagent for into key international territories including Spain, Portugal, Eastern Europe and Asia.
Nick has worked in rights for over six years, and prior to RML was a Rights Manager at Bonnier Books UK. He has also previously worked for Hachette UK and Penguin Random House in Barcelona. In Spring 2024 he was shortlisted for the London Book Fair Trailblazer Awards.
