Congratulations Mel Pennant on being shortlisted for the prestigious CWA WHODUNNIT CRIME DAGGER AWARD for her debut novel A MURDER FOR MISS HORTENSE (published by John Murray's Baskerville Press).
The Whodunnit Dagger celebrates books where the sex, swearing, and bloodletting take place offstage–books that focus on the intellectual challenge at the heart of a good mystery, and which revolve around often quirky characters. Books in this category include cosy crime, traditional crime, and Golden Age-inspired mysteries.
The winner will be announced in the summer.

Congratulations to our author Caroline Lea, who has been longlisted for the RSL Ondaajte Prize for her novel LOVE, SEX AND FRANKENSTEIN.
Set in the Villa Diodati, Lake Geneva, 1816, the novel concentrates on eighteen-year-old Mary Shelley who has fled London with her lover, Percy Shelley, and her sister, Claire to Lord Byron's villa, where Mary gives birth to the literary creation of Frankenstein.
The RSL Ondaatje Prize is an annual award of £10,000 for a distinguished work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry, evoking the spirit of a place.
The shortlist will be announced in May and the winner in June.
